Susan Wright brings 15+ years of marketing experience developed at Microsoft, Quaker Oats and Nestle, covering every aspect of brand management and strategy. She was responsible for the worldwide marketing effort for Microsoft Office as Group Product Manager for the Small Business segment ($1 Billion in revenue and $50 Million marketing budget). Susan’s responsibilities have included positioning, branding, market research, advertising, consumer promotion, packaging, channel programs and financial management (P&L). At Nestle, Susan received the company-wide Marketing Award for Outstanding Achievement.
After 12 years on the client side, Susan founded Compass Partners in 2003. Her goal was to focus on strategic marketing consulting and research in a way that would bring greater clarity to significant brand challenges. Drawing on her marketing experience, Susan knows what questions to ask, as well as how to design studies and map questions back to business objectives in order to provide direction on strategy. And her past experience allows Susan to better appreciate the challenges inherent in applying strategic learning to reality.
Susan graduated with honors from Queens University in Canada with a B.Sc. in Engineering (Chemistry) degree. Sponsored by her employers, she completed the executive education course at the Harvard Business School. Susan is also a RIVA certified moderator.
